We issue an annual report for the European Commission on the market situation for electricity and natural gas in Spain
 

Wholesale natural gas market

We oversee the organised natural gas market (MIBGAS) and we analyse its degree of liquidity and transparency and its level of competition.

We perform monitoring of the wholesale natural gas market with a national and international scope, with data compiled each month into a Report on oversight of the wholesale natural gas market and supply. In this report we present information on the international natural gas markets (including LNG) and the natural gas market in Spain, carrying out monitoring of demand, stock levels, international flows of natural gas, and prices on the wholesale markets. We also compile information on the monthly evolution of natural gas supply for the Spanish market and the degree of supply diversification.

We oversee the functioning of the retail market, supply to the final consumer, and last-resort commercialisation activities.

In our quarterly reports we compile the most significant data on the evolution of the retail natural gas market in Spain, as well as the market shares of the various business groups in terms of turnover and number of customers.

Each quarter we compile information on technical management of the natural gas supply system, natural gas inputs and outputs, the balance sheet for the system, stock levels, and operation and maintenance of transport facilities.
