Media Literacy

Media literacy refers to people's ability to access, understand, create, and critically evaluate different types of media and social networks, with the aim of actively participating in democratic life.

Specifically, it involves the development of skills and competencies that citizens must have to critically evaluate information (such as news, photos, videos, etc.) provided by various media and social networks. These competencies should be aimed at helping users understand the content they consume and identify its sources.

Media literacy also encompasses the development of knowledge and critical understanding attitudes so that users can use media safely and effectively, enabling them to conduct critical analysis and likewise create content in a safe and responsible manner.

Additionally, these measures should help citizens distinguish between facts and opinions, recognize fake news, and identify disinformation processes.
