Market Analysis

We define and analyze electronic communications markets periodically to determine whether they operate in an environment of effective competition and, if not, impose the specific obligations necessary on the operator or operators designated as having significant market power.

To this end, we analyze the corresponding reference markets, identify and make public the operator or operators with significant market power, and finally impose, maintain, or modify specific obligations on these operators.

Conversely, if we determine that the market operates in an environment of effective competition, we proceed to remove the obligations that operators may have been subjected to for being designated, in previous analyses, as having significant market power.

According to the Electronic Communications Code and the General Telecommunications Law, the maximum period between market reviews must be 5 years.

Current Market Analysis Resolutions

In these markets, the CNMC has determined the existence of significant market power of one or more operators and has imposed obligations on these operators. The resolutions are ordered by approval date.
