International activities

We participate in a variety of international bodies:

ERGA

We are a member of the European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Service (ERGA), a group created by the European Commission through its Decision of 3 February 2014. This group is made up of the independent authorities with competency on audiovisual subject matter from the European Union's member states.

The ERGA advises and assists the European Commission on uniform implementation of the regulatory framework for audiovisual communication services, as well as on any other issues related to audiovisual communication media where the Commission may have authority. The ERGA facilitates both exchange of information and best practices during application of the European audiovisual regulatory framework, and it cooperates and collaborates with the other members..

We actively participate in the working groups that have been created in relation to this.

EPRA

We are a member of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), which was created in 1995. It represents a forum for informal discussion and exchange of experiences and knowledge among audiovisual regulatory authorities in Europe.

    Others

We currently hold the vice-presidency position in the Mediterranean Network of Regulatory Authorities (MNRA). This network, created in 1997, represents a forum for discussion and exchange of information among independent regulatory authorities from the Mediterranean basin on issues related to audiovisual regulation

We also hold the presidency of the Iberian Conference for Councils on Audiovisual Services (CICA in Spanish). In addition to the CNMC, other members of this platform include the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia (CAA in Spanish), the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia (CAC in Catalan), and the Audiovisual Authority of Portugal (Regulatory Entity for Social Communication; ERC in Portuguese). The intention here is to create and define pathways that allow for effective exchanges of information and experiences among its members, as well as routes for collaboration and cooperation when carrying out their functions.
